Bell Bank Teams Up with Drekker on Pay It Forward Porter

Banks and breweries don’t typically team up on a porter, but Bell isn’t your typical bank.

About a year ago, Bell Bank president and CEO Michael Solberg and corporate counsel Greg Hammes talked about working with Drekker Brewing Co. of Fargo on a craft brew with a pay it forward component.

“What’s really important to us in combining it with the Pay It Forward program is supporting the community every chance we get,” Greg notes.

That discussion led to the creation of the Pay It Forward porter, and throughout December, Bell will donate $1 to the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch for every pint of Pay It Forward porter sold.

“It’s really special when we can support the community at the same time as partnering with Drekker, who’s been a wonderful bank customer who we have a longstanding banking relationship with,” Greg explains.

“These are the fun projects that really excite us and give us an opportunity to help our mission and what we’re trying to do expand beyond our own walls, so working with Bell was a natural idea to us,” remarks Mark Bjornstad, Drekker Brewing Co. president and co-founder. “They’ve been a great partner with banking, and it’s a fun way to align our interests together. I think we have a lot of similar philosophies in how we want to be community stewards, so this was a great idea to work together on something really cool and inspiring.”
